Cheyenne is a beloved sanctuary horse at Second Chances Equine Rescue. After experiencing hardship, Cheyenne now has a permanent, safe home where comfort, consistency, and compassionate care come first.
Why Cheyenne Is a Sanctuary Horse
Some horses cannot be adopted due to age, medical needs, or past trauma. As a sanctuary horse, Cheyenne will remain at Second Chances Equine Rescue for life, receiving the care and stability she deserves.
Cheyenne came to us with a Squamous Cell Carcinoma in her vulva that was inoperable due to size. In July 2016 her right eye had an abscess that ruptured and had to be removed. Cheyenne remains such a gentle spirit throughout all her challenges and is one of our ambassadors here at the rescue. She is our senior senior at the rescue and has recently added arthritis medication to her daily requirement.
