Meet Mikey

Mikey is a handsome gelded donkey with an independent spirit and a story that’s still unfolding. Before coming to Second Chances Equine Rescue, he spent much of his time living in a large pasture alongside Molly and a herd of cattle. As a result, Mikey hasn’t had much experience building relationships with people and can be a bit feral and unsure of human interaction.

Despite his cautious nature, Mikey is making progress as he learns that people can be trusted. With patience, consistency, and compassionate care, he’s slowly gaining confidence and adjusting to life at the rescue.
